Welcome to the 150th Dresden Exhibition!
The Dresden Agricultural Society would like to extend a warm welcome to exhibitors and patrons of all ages. The membership delegated the Board of Directors to provide the town of Dresden with the 150th Dresden Exhibition. When you come to this year's Dresden Exhibition, you will notice more new changes to the grounds. We have been busy to give you new and updated facilities. The exhibits will once again be displayed proudly in the old Slot Building. The board along with our community partners hope you enjoy what we've been up to. RULES & REGULATIONS
Entries open starting March 1, 2025. Entries close 5pm July 23th, 2025.

- ALL exhibits are to be brought to DRESDEN AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY (OLD DRESDEN SLOTS BUILDING)
- Exhibits will be accepted Monday July 21 (12-5pm), July 22 (12-5), July 23 (12-5pm). Judging will take place July 24, 2025 at 6pm.
- Exhibits must be removed from the EXHIBIT BUILDING between 9am-12 noon on Sunday July 27, 2025.
- No entry fees. 10% of prizes reserved by the fair.
- Exhibits must be complete and ready to be displayed when entering, otherwise refused
- Only one entry per class per exhibitor, unless otherwise specified.
- Photos submitted must not use any professional photography services.
- All manufactured goods must be the product of the exhibitor (manufacturers may exhibit through agents). All grains, seeds, fruit and vegetables must be grown by the exhibitor.
- No produce or any other article shall be exhibited in any manner or marked thereon or attached thereto by which the owner may be known or the exhibitor identified.
- In the absence of competition in any section, if the stock or article exhibited is of inferior quality, the judges are instructed to award only such premium as they deem the article deserves. They will execute their discretion as to whether they will award 1st, 2nd,3rd or any premium. The judge's decision is final. No protests allowed.
- No person will be allowed to act as a judge in the class in which they are exhibiting or are in any way interested in same.
- Any person who will interfere with the judges while in charge of looking after the Exhibition or interfere with the directors and parties who may be assisting directors or those who have anything to do with giving prizes, by using profanity or abusive language towards those discharging their duties will forfeit any prize money that may be due. No one without invitation by the director may be present during judging.
- In case an error occurs in the printing of the prize list, the directors have the power to rectify same.
- All professional exhibitors in fancy goods and any person dealing in these goods in a mercantile business are not eligible to accept prizes unless otherwise stated.
- Any discrepancies in prize payouts must be brought to the attention of the Secretary/Treasurer immediately upon receipt. All prize payout cheques must be cashed no later than September 30, 2025.
Dresden Exhibition Jr Ambassador Competition (previously the Dresden Exhibition Prince/Princess)
Jr Ambassador will be awarded to the top person in the aged 9-13 with the most points earned in exhibits entered in the following sections:
Jr Ambassador (9-13) Sections 5-23
Age is as of January 1, 2025. You must provide your date of birth and phone number when entering your exhibits online using Assist Expo. You must answer yes or no to being considered for the Jr Ambassador competition when entering. Winners must have a minimum of 30 points earned to qualify. Points for ribbons will be allocated as follows: 1st- 5, 2nd- 3, 3rd- 2, 4th-1. The winner must be available on Friday evening and exhibition events Saturday.

All exhibitors must be 4-H members. Ontario Council membership cards will be only proof of membership accepted.
Calf must be their 2025 project animal born in 2024 or 2025. Dress code will consist of clean and tidy clothing.
Judging will commence after the 4-H Achievement program. Registration will take place in the morning upon arrival.

Class 2B - Market Livestock
All steers will be hip-heighted the morning of the show. If you miss the hip height you will not be allowed to enter the show ring. Judging will commence after the 4-H programs. Market animals are not eligible for breeding heifer classes. Exhibitor may show/enter only 2 animals per class.
10% prize money will be retained by Dresden Agricultural Society.

Class 2C - Breeding Program
Show will consist of purebred and crossbred showing together. Papers must be shown upon registration. Tattoos may be checked on show day as well. Each bull over 1 year of age must be secured with a ring in the nose with a chain or rope attached. Calves shown in cow classes may be split and shown in the calf classes. Calves must be at least 4 months of age.
10% prize money will be retained by Dresden Agricultural Society.

Any entries not picked up by noon on Sunday will be discarded.

Class 8 - Quilting
One entry per section, per exhibitor. Judges are instructed to eliminate any soiled or damaged work. Entry must be solely the work of the person entering the competition.
OAAS Competition Rules
- Entried must be soley made and quilted by the exhibitor and exhibited and judges at a local Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies to be eligible for this competition
- Entry quilts must be a minimun of 324" measured on the perimeter (smaller quilts will not be eligible to proceed to the next level of competition)
- The winner's name and patteren to be displayed at the Fair on sign provided by OAAS
- Judging will occur at local fairs and District level. A Provincial Grand Champion Quilt will be selected at the Annual OAAS Convention
- Upon making an entry into the Ontario Association of Agricultral Socities Champion Quilt Competition, the Exhibitor agrees to participate in any promotional activities related to the competition.
- The winning Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Champion Quilt will not be eligible to compete in any future District and/or Convention OAAS competitions.
Any entries not picked up are NOT the responsibility of the Dresden Agricultural Society, and must be picked up before noon on Sunday.

Class 9 - Culinary Arts
Only one entry per exhibitor per section. Entries are to be solely the work of the exhibitor. Baking to be shown on unbreakable plates in plastic bags. All baking/preserves must be homemade or will be disqualified. Remove all papers from baking. Jams, jellies, and canning can be in any size jar. Jars must be sealed and have new rings. All jars will be opened. NO WAX. Entries will be judged on appearance, taste, texture. No mixes, prepared filling or crust to be used. Entries not picked up will be discarded.
OAAS Competition Rules
BUTTER TART Competition
- 6 tarts - NO nuts or fruit of any kind (e.g. no pecans, raisins etc)
- Tarts must be full size - no mini or bite size tarts
- Tarts must be on a clean sturdy plate (no paper plate) inside of a clear plastic bag
- 1st prize winner to enter tarts in Ontario Agricultural Societies District competition. District winner to compete in Provincial competition
DISTRICT COMPETITION RULES:
1. The entrant must have won the butter tart competition at the local Fair/Exhibition to be eligible to enter the District Competition
2. The size of the tart must be full size
3. A total of 6 tarts will be required to be shown
4. Tarts must not contain fruit or nuts
5. Tarts must be on a clean sturdy plate inside a clear plastic bag with the exhibitor's name and address using the entry tag provided by Brigden Fair Culinary Crafts committee will provide details to the winner regarding an entry tag
6. Prize money to be paid by the District
PROVINCIAL COMPETITION RULES:
1. The entrant must have won the District Competition to be eligible to enter the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Competition at the convention.
2. In the case where the District winner is unable to send an entry to the convention then the 2nd prize district winner will be eligible to enter.
3. The size of the tart must be full size
4. A total of 6 tarts will be required to be shown
5. Tarts must not contain fruit or nuts

Class 14 - Scarecrow and Garden Sculpture
Minimum size is 4' tall. Maximum height is 8' tall. Scarecrow(s)/Garden sculpture and props must fit in a 5' x 5' area. The entire structure of the exhibit is the dimension of the scarecrow/garden sculpture entry- not the dimension of the actual scarecrow. Your exhibit may include more than one figure.The scarecrow(s/sculpture) must be prepared to sit or stand on its own props within the area.Rubber, plastic or store-bought masks are not allowed in the category.Scarecrow construction MUST include straw or hay.Set up of scarecrows will be during the normal time allotted for exhibits.When designing your scarecrow/garden sculpture, please keep in mind that this is a family event. Class 17 - 4-H & Cloverbuds
The Dresden Agricultural Society is proud to sponsor several 4-H clubs and offer 4-H exhibit classes. 4-H offers a Clover Bud program for ages 6-8 and a youth program for ages 9-21. These programs offer opportunities for personal development and leadership through hands on projects. 4-H is a volunteer run program with local policies and programs organized by the Chatham Kent 4-H Association.

Any entries not picked up are NOT the responsibility of the Dresden Agricultural Society, they must be picked up no later than noon on Sunday.

Class 20 - Junior Culinary Arts
Open to youth ages 15 and under. Only one entry per exhibitor per section. Entries are to be solely the work of the exhibitor. Baking to be shown on unbreakable plates in plastic bags. All baking/preserves must be homemade or will be disqualified. No peanut butter or nuts. Remove all papers from baking. Entries will be judged on appearance, taste, texture. No mixes, prepared filling or crust to be used. Entries not picked up will be discarded.
OAAS RULES
Cookie Competition:
Open to all Youth up to age 15 as of December 1st, One entry per exhibitor only - NO GROUP ENTRY. Entry must consist of 6 cookies displayed on a clean, sturdy, disposable plate. Cookies to be no larger than 2.5" and no smaller than 2". Consent to publish must be signed. 1st prize winner to enter cookies in Ontario Agricultural Societies District Competition. District winner to compete in Provincal competition.
District Competition:
1. The winner from each Fair/Exhibition will be eligible to enter at the District Competition
2. District entry must consist of 6 cookies displayed on a clean, sturdy plate inside of a clear plastic bag with the exhibitor's name and address using the entry tag provided.
3. Plain chocolate chip cookies, with no nuts, must be no larger than 2.5" and no smaller than 2"
4. Prize money to be paid by the District.
Provincial Competition:
1.The entrant must be the winner from the District Competition
2. In the case where the District winner is unable to send an entry to the convention, then the 2nd place District winner will be eligible to enter.
3. The entry for the Provincial must consist of 6 cookies displayed on a clean, sturdy plate inside of a clear plastic bag with the exhibitor's name, address and District represented using the entry tag provided.

BABY PHOTO CONTEST
RULES
1. Submit a 4' by 6' AMATEUR photo of your child, born between July 31, 2024 and June 30th of 2025
2. Photos will be displayed at the Fair in the Exhibit building from 3pm on Friday July 25, 2025 till July 27th at 2 pm
3. Guests of the Fair will be eligible to vote by secret ballot for their favourite photo
4. Ballots will be counted after 2 pm on Sunday July 27, 2025
5. Prize will be awarded for the photo with the most votes. The winner will be contacted via phone
6. Photos may be handed in on Monday 21 - Wednesday 23 from 12 - 5pm
7. The Childs name and birth date must be on the back of the photo and an entry tag must be completed in full
8. Photos can be picked up Sunday July 27, 2025 after 4 pm in the Slot building
